Tassie Tourism Ambassador Program

The Tassie Tourism Ambassador Program has been created specifically for the Tasmanian tourism industry as a way to equip tourism and hospitality staff and interested locals with the skills to offer a great visitor experience and local knowledge to tell the story of the region.

It is a FREE online course made up of four modules:

  1. Understanding the tourism industry
  2. Knowing your destination
  3. Telling amazing stories
  4. Exceeding visitor expectations

To become an Ambassador you have to watch the short clips and complete a short survey testing your local knowledge and know-how.

As long as you have access to the internet, you can complete the course online, at home or in the office, at a pace that suits you. Allow around two and four hours to work through all the videos and answer the quiz questions.

The program is Fun, Easy, Informative, and available to anyone working or volunteering within the Tasmanian tourism industry and visitor economy. Best of all – it’s 100% FREE.

Facilitated by Tourism Industry Council Tasmania, the program is delivered in partnership with an authority in each town, be it the local Council, Local Tourism Association, Chamber of Commerce, or Regional Tourism Organisation to have a bespoke program delivered in their town/city.

The objective of the Tassie Tourism Ambassador Program is to increase regional dispersal by inspiring and empowering staff working in customer-facing businesses to provide a positive experience for every visitor with whom they come into contact.
